Gestual

A gesture turned into an object, where design is metamorphosis and the body, its language.
[ 2016 ]
Gestual is a conceptual exercise that inhabits a surreal and dreamlike universe. It emerges as an exploration of the power of the unconscious and its ability to transform ideas into objects, materializing a bodily language in leather and form. With a narrative that defies logic, Gestual can be a nonsensical story—like dreams themselves—where unexpected juxtapositions awaken curiosity and new associations in the observer. Its essence lies in the details, in the beauty of original, unique, and simple gestures that construct an imaginary world where dreaming, ideating, and perceiving know no bounds.

Brand Imaginary
Gestual is born from an exercise in automatic writing inspired by the surrealists, where the body expresses itself unfiltered, allowing the subconscious to guide every shape and movement. Just as words flow freely onto the page, Gestual translates that impulse into matter, exploring skin and leather as living languages. It is a constant dialogue between the intuitive and the tangible, where the body reveals its own alphabet through gestures that narrate stories without the need for words.

Three Product Lines

    Core Explosion
The human body as a canvas
Gestual sees the human body as an inexhaustible source of inspiration, the temple where existence resides. It takes the skin as a canvas, leather as a language, and in every fold, every curve, every shadow, it discovers an alphabet of shapes in motion. It explores posture, gesture, the invisible dance of every essential expression. Each line is a bodily journey through the secrets whispered by the skin, the echoes of a wrinkle, the traces of lines that hold stories. For Gestual, the body coexists with space, translates it, shapes it, narrates it, in a language that only matter can expose and remember.

In this project, conceptual exploration gave rise to three lines. Only the first materialized into physical objects, leading to leather goods that translate its essence into form and matter. These pieces encapsulate Gestual’s vision, demonstrating how experimentation with the body, movement, and perception can transform into a tangible language.

    Parallel World
Reflections and symmetry as a metaphor for coexisting realities
Inspired by the duality of reflections in water, mirrors, and the body’s involuntary movements, this line plays with transparency, the diffuse, and duality as central elements.Movement is vibration and, like an idea, it persists beyond the visible. Though we may not perceive it in this reality, its echo lingers a moment longer. In Gestual, reflections are the subtle manifestation of vibration, a precise look at the perception of the intangible. They are a reminder that, even if we don’t see something, its existence persists: it has been there, leaving its mark on space, memory, and the body.

    The Infinite
    Manifestation of the invisible
Iridescence is a portal between worlds: the material and the subtle. It is the reflection of what exists beyond perception, a language that unfolds in fleeting glimmers to remind us that there is always something more.Like a message sent from the intangible to the tangible, The Infinite in Gestual is a vibration in motion, a sign that we are not alone on the journey. Amid shifting lights and colors that challenge the limits of the human eye, it holds the connection to the invisible, the echo of transformation. It is healing, protection, and openness. A bridge to the unknown, where creativity knows no boundaries and matter translates the subtle into unexpected forms.

Gestual has been a material exploration and a process of metamorphosis, where design ceases to be static and becomes a body in motion. Each gesture, each texture, and each form are remnants of a journey in which creation merges with transformation. In this process, design not only shapes objects but also molds the gaze and perception.
